PSV vs Girona

Goal scorers: Flamingo 16', Tillman 33'

Dutch club PSV Eindhoven host La Liga side Girona in the city hoping for their first win of the 2024/25 Champions League season.

Ryan Flamingo put them in the driver's seat after he bundled Malik Tillman's long throw into the goal. It was his first competitive goal, which he scored with his first shot on goal.

The American then got on the scoresheet after driving into the penalty area. Girona gave him the space and he shot a right-footed shot from the left into the goal.

As PSV were eliminated after the break, they missed a clear chance to capitalize for the third time against the Spanish club when Luuk De Jong hit the post.

The evening got even worse for Girona when defender Arnau Martinez was sent off with a second yellow card for a harsh tackle on Noa Lang.

Substitute Ismael Saibari then thought he could have scored a third but VAR ruled a foul beforehand before Johan Bakayoko ensured a comeback was off the table with a shot from outside the area.

Slovan Bratislava vs Dinamo Zagreb

Goal scorers: Strelec 5'; Špikić 10', Sučić 30', Kulenović 54', 72'

Over in Slovakia, Slovan Bratislava face Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb.

The hosts got off to a bright start when David Strelec struck from point-blank range after the visitors failed to clear a saved attempt.

A few minutes later, however, Dario Špikić scored the equalizer at the near post.

Later calls for a first-half penalty from Slovan Bratislava fell on deaf ears and the referee stood by his decision despite a VAR review.

After narrowly conceding a penalty, Petar Sučić headed home a curling cross and turned the game around.

This dominance continued when the visitors gave the floor to the in-form Sandro Kulenović. He remained unmolested at the back post and scored his 13th goal in 18 games this season before scoring a brace.

Coming later…

Buckle up!
