🚨 Amad leads United to victory over PAOK; Ajax beats Maccabi Tel-Aviev

The Europa League returns tonight with several exciting fixtures taking place across the continent.

Amad is helping United get on the right track

Goalscorers: Amad 51', 77'

Amad Diallo scored a brilliant brace to finally give Manchester United their first Europa League win of the season and continue Ruud van Nistelrooy's unbeaten run as interim coach.

PAOK almost took the lead within five minutes, a shot deflected off Casemiro and almost went past André Onana.

Soon after, United got back into the swing of things and probably should have been awarded a penalty for a foul on Amad that was waved off by the VAR.

After half an hour, United were inches from goal, but ex-Chelsea defender Baba Rahman brilliantly managed to keep out Alejandro Garnacho's cross as Diallo was about to finish.

PAOK were more than a match for United in the first half and Onana had to be sharp to keep out Mady Camara's half-volley as Old Trafford became unsettled.

In the second half, United came out much stronger and took the lead with a great header from Amad, who directed Fernandes' cross to the far post.

Tails up, they pushed for a second, with Amad close again, before van Nistelrooy rolled in the subs, including Marcus Rashford.

Tarik Tissoudali missed a great chance to equalize for PAOK just after the hour mark, but scored directly at Onana from less than 10 meters away.

Amad, who was United's best player all evening, scored his second goal with a fantastic goal 13 minutes from time. He beat a defender, won the ball, held on to it and, with the help of a slight deflection, rolled home.

Rashford almost scored a third in stoppage time but it didn't matter as United secured the crucial three points before the arrival of Ruben Amorim.

Ajax delivered a five-star show

Goalscorers: Traoré 14', Taylor 27', Godts 39', Brobbey 61', Fitz-Jim 69'

Ajax continued their good form in the Europa League with an absolutely dominant 5-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviev at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

It took the Dutch giants just 14 minutes to take the lead through Bertrand Traoré, but it was all thanks to the work of Brian Brobbey. The tall striker got past his man and shot the ball across the penalty area, allowing the winger to finish from close range.

Maccabi thought they had equalized just five minutes later, but Elad Madmon's goal was disallowed.

Just before the half hour mark, Brobbey was active in Ajax's second half and fired the ball into the path of Kenneth Taylor to complete a beautiful move.

It was three six minutes before half-time when Mika Godts came on with a great finish. The broad man cut into it before rolling home.

Brobbey got the goal his all-round game deserved just after the hour, sinking an indirect free-kick. It was his first goal of the season, suggesting the viciousness of the strike.

Kian Fitz-Jim scored the fifth goal, fending off a fine ball from substitute Steven Berguis and finishing cleverly from inside the box to round off a perfect night for Francesco Farioli's side.

Osimhen the difference in Istanbul

Goalscorers: Akgün 6', Osimhen 32', 39'; Lankshear 19', Solanke 69'

Victor Osimhen was at his best, scoring twice to help Galatasary beat Tottenham 3-2 at the RAMs Stadium and move to the top of the Europa League table.

However, it was Yunus Akgün who gave Gala the lead after just six minutes with a simply stunning goal. The former Leicester loanee hit a half-volley past Fraser Forster after a free-kick was passed to him on the edge of the box.

Spurs equalized 13 minutes later thanks to their young striker Will Lankshear, who chose a great time to score his first goal for the club. Archie Gray played a lovely ball to Brennan Johnson, who side-footed it across the penalty area for the 19-year-old to finish.

After half an hour, the Turkish champions thought they had regained the lead, but Victor Osimhen was offside when he fired the ball into the net. However, the Nigerian striker scored a minute later and finished well after Spurs lost possession in midfield.

The on-loan Napoli player came into action again six minutes before half-time, stylishly firing home a great cross from Dries Mertens that the Spurs defense simply couldn't deal with.

Spurs' night got even worse after the hour when Lankshear was sent off for a second yellow card. It summed up their frustration as Gala dominated.

Dominic Solanke came on as a substitute in the 69th minute and saved his team after a cross from Pedro Porro.

Dejan Kulusevski had a chance late on to grab a point for Spurs, but Spurs suffered their first European defeat of the season against a deserving team.

Roma's winning streak is now four

Goalscorers: Mac Allister 77'; Mancini 62'

The pressure on Ivan Jurić only increased as his side were held to a 1-1 draw by Union Saint-Gilloise in Brussels.

After a laborious first hour, Roma finally took the lead in the 62nd minute through Gianluca Mancini, who beat the Union goalkeeper and headed Lorenzo Pellegrini's cross into the goal.

Union equalized with 13 minutes left, Kevin Mac Allister scoring his own header from a corner and worthy of their point.

The Rangers are fighting for a draw in Athens

Goalscorers: El Kaabi 56'; Desserts 64'

The Rangers fought back from a goal down in Athens to a 1-1 draw against Europa Conference League winners Olympiacos Piraeus.

After a relatively even first half, Olympiacos took the lead 11 minutes after the break through Ayoub El Kaabi.

The Moroccan striker brought the ball into the box and managed to turn and fire a volley past Jack Butland.

Rangers equalized just eight minutes later, Cyrille Dessers showing brilliant feet before firing the ball into the goal with great composure.

Phillippe Clement's side could have taken all three points but should be happy with a good away point.
