1 dead, 4 injured in shooting in East Cleveland early Saturday morning

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – East Cleveland police officers responded to a shooting early Saturday morning in which at least five people were shot, according to Police Chief Ken Lundy.

East Cleveland police confirmed that four people were injured and one person was pronounced dead at the scene following a shooting in the area of ​​Euclid Avenue and Taylor Road.

Police were called to the scene at around 5am on Saturday morning.

Lundy told 19 News four people were taken to the hospital but had no update on their condition.

Three people were taken into custody for questioning, Lundy told 19 News.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting the East Cleveland Police Department.

Saturday's shooting was less than 600 feet from a Sept. 2 shooting at a Mobil gas station that sent three people to the hospital, and about 1,000 feet from a shooting that also occurred Sept. 2 and at where two people were injured.
