The 2024 Renaissance Festival opens November 2nd in Hammond

HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) – Everyone from near and far is invited to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival returning to Hammond.

On the weekends between November and December, men and women can venture into the forest to immerse themselves in a replica of the Renaissance.

Held each fall in the English village of Albright, the festival offers a fun-filled 16th century experience with over 600 artisans, entertainers and demonstrations.

Part of the experience are the themes set for each weekend:

  • Saturday, November 2nd and Sunday, November 3rd – Romance and masquerade

  • Saturday, November 9th and Sunday, November 10th – Vikings

  • Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th – Celtic

  • Saturday, November 23rd and Sunday, November 24th – Myths and magic

  • Sunday, November 29th, Monday, November 30th and Monday, December 1st – pirate

  • Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th – Fireworks finale

Queen Elizabeth stopped by the WGNO studio to announce all of the activities to take part in.

“In addition to many of our returning favorite entertainments, we also have a whole host of new things to enjoy on each and every one of our stages,” Her Majesty said. “We have turkey legs, we have Jamaican food this year, we have roasted flavored nuts and all sorts of things to enjoy.”

The gates open at the first cannon shot at 9:45 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m

Tickets can be purchased on the Louisiana Renaissance Festival website.

WGNO will be in the Village of Albright, showcasing the sights, sounds, tastes and fun.
