Chappell Roan performs new song “The Giver” on “SNL”

The pink pony galloped out of the club and ran away with the rodeo! This week's episode of Saturday Night Live John Mulaney may have hosted and guest starred from Pete Davidson, Andy Samberg, Dana Carvey, Jim Gaffigan, Maya Rudolph and, quite literally, the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, but it turns out all That was just the preparation for the main event of the evening: musical guest Chappell Roan introduced a brand new song! It's called “The Giver” and it's a lesbian country barnburner with roots. Wearing a pink gingham outfit a la Trixie Mattel, Roan stomped along to a boisterous violin in her matching pink gingham cowgirl boots as she performed the new anthem about being better at it give than any cock-wielding man. A lyric to illustrate: “Other boys might need a card / But I can close my eyes and wrap you around my fingers like that.”

The chorus is, as expected from Roan, absolutely sing-along-worthy, with the catchy refrain “Ain't no Country Boy Bigger / I get the job done.” In the great tradition of Roan songs like “Femininomenon,” she brought it live -Studio audience with a spoken word bridge to scream as she said: “Only a Woman Knows how to treat a woman right!” Last week, Roan announced the title on Instagram with a series of Polaroids with the words “She gets the job done.” Boy, does she even do that?
