Former US President Donald Trump and US Vice President Kamala Harris are engaged in a fairly close and competitive race for the crucial swing states as the US presidential election on November 5th approaches. According to USA Today, recent polls from UMass Lowell and YouGov found both presidential candidates neck and neck in battleground states like Michigan, North Carolina and New Hampshire.

USA Today reported that in North Carolina, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump leads Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris by nearly two percentage points, while 74% of North Carolina voters believe the country is on the wrong track.

On the other hand, contrasting scenes can be observed in Michigan, where Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has a lead of almost 4 percentage points over Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, while 66% of respondents in Michigan expressed great disappointment with the country's direction . USA Today also found that Kamala Harris has just a one-point lead over Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, while her lead in the state of New Hampshire is significantly larger at about 7 percentage points.

Recent polls indicate that US voters view Donald Trump as the better suited candidate to handle economic and illegal immigration issues, while Kamala Harris, on the other hand, is preferred on abortion issues and is viewed as relatively more trustworthy.
