In a word: The Dallas Cowboys are frustrated.

They entered Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons with two straight losses and 3-4 overall and quickly fell behind by double digits in the first half. Head coach Mike McCarthy vented his own frustration on a tablet as he opened it:

Dallas managed just three points on its first two offensive possessions, and the struggles came to a head on their third drive when CeeDee Lamb was brought down on fourth-and-1 for a loss of three yards.

Atlanta turned the ensuing possession into a touchdown when Kirk Cousins found a wide-open Darnell Mooney on his own play on fourth down.

McCarthy's job security has been a focus this season, especially after the Cowboys went 1-3 in playoff games in the last three seasons under the head coach. The pressure is on this NFC East team to have more success in the postseason, but even making the playoffs will be in doubt with another loss on Sunday.

The Cowboys also made headlines in the week leading up to Sunday's game because of the altercation between cornerback Trevon Diggs and a reporter after a loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

McCarthy responded to this situation by telling reporters: “I think we have to be better in moments like this. I always talk about staying on the right track.”

There has been frustration for the Cowboys both on and off the field this season, and the tablet slam was just the latest example.
