Cowboys QB Dak Prescott left the game against the Falcons with a hamstring injury

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott left Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury. He was replaced by backup quarterback Cooper Rush.

Prescott was eliminated with the Cowboys trailing 27-13. Before his day ended, he had completed 18 of 24 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown.

Dallas entered Sunday's game against the Falcons with a record of 3-4. The Cowboys were 3-2 before a two-game losing streak began in Week 9.

Prescott has struggled so far this season, throwing 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions in Sunday's game.

His passer rating of 84.5 through seven games is the worst mark of his career, as is his quarterback rating of 47.5. Prescott's completion percentage and yards per attempt average entering Week 9 are the second-worst numbers of his career.

In September, Prescott signed a four-year, $240 million contract that made him the highest-paid player in NFL history, according to multiple reports. The deal includes $231 million in guaranteed money.

Rush, 30, spent the first three years of his career with the Cowboys. He played for the New York Giants in 2020 before returning to Dallas in 2021.

Rush saw his longest playing time in the 2022 season when he started five games in place of the injured Prescott. He went 4-1 in those games.

In his career prior to Sunday, Rush completed 60.8% of his passes for 1,671 yards with eight touchdowns and six interceptions.

The Cowboys, who are in third place in the NFC East, play their division rival Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10.
