The Tennessee Titans clinched their second win of the season on Sunday, clinching a 20:17 home win against the New England Patriots thanks to an interception by Amani Hooker with 2:17 left in overtime.

In the postgame press conference, first-year coach Brian Callahan fought back tears as he spoke about his team.

“I’m proud of what these guys did and how hard they fought,” he said.

Callahan mentioned several players by name, including running back Tony Pollard, who finished with a season-high 128 yards.

“He's everything…he's everything our locker room is about,” Callahan said of Pollard before choking up.

“I’m proud of him,” he added.

At one point, Callahan was asked how badly the Titans needed this win after starting the season 1-6 and suffering a crushing 52-14 loss to the Lions in Detroit.

“I needed it bad, man,” Callahan admitted tearfully. “Yeah…we needed it.”

He later explained that the emotion shown was because his team played hard despite on-field adversity and battling injuries.

“It’s just all we’re about,” he said. “What our program should be about, what our team looks like. We had moments of resilience, but this was a really, really resilient performance from our group.”

The Titans (2-6) face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. CT.
