The Raiders fire OC Luke Getsy after a stunning 7-2 loss to the Bengals to start the season

While no interim OC or game manager has been announced yet, Pelissero noted that former Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner and current passing game coordinator is a logical candidate. With the Las Vegas farewell looming, it's worth keeping an eye on how different the team will look when it takes on the Miami Dolphins on November 17th.

At the start of the season, quarterback Gardner Minshew was substituted as the starter in favor of Aidan O'Connell. O'Connell did little to improve the offense and suffered a thumb injury in Week 7, ushering in Minshew's return to the starting lineup. However, Minshew was benched again during Sunday's loss, this time in favor of Desmond Ridder.

While the Raiders are on a five-game losing streak, Getsy's offense ranks last in giveaways (19), rushing yards per game (76.9) and yards per carry (3.5). With a meager 280.2 yards per game, Las Vegas ranks 29th in the league as its offense has scored 20 or fewer points in six of its nine games.

Minshew, a first-time Pro Bowler with the Indianapolis Colts last season, ranks 28th in the NFL with a passer rating of 80.2. O'Connell is worse at 76.0.

It's worth noting, however, that Pierce's defense was hardly a unit the Raiders could boast. They have allowed more than 30 points four times this season and posted a season-high 41 on Sunday.

Sunday's news marks Getsy's second firing of the calendar year, as he was fired as the Bears' offensive coordinator in January.

Getsy clearly wasn't a good fit in Las Vegas, but not much had happened for the Silver and Black in 2024.
