Tuesday is Election Day, and even if you're unsure about your voter registration status, you can register to vote in several states until the polls close.

More than 20 states and Washington, DC allow same-day registration, allowing eligible voters to register and vote simultaneously through Election Day. However, in some states this only applies to the presidential and vice presidential races.

North Dakota is the only state that does not require voter registration, meaning eligible residents can vote without prior action.

Proof of residency and identification are generally required for registration. However, voters should check with their local election administrator via Vote.gov for more information.
