Dak Prescott injury: Cowboys quarterback expected to miss Eagles' Week 10 game

Dak Prescott injury: Cowboys quarterback expected to miss Eagles' Week 10 game

According to reports from NFL Media, Dak Prescott is expected to miss several games due to the hamstring injury he suffered in the Dallas Cowboys' Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Additional context:

Prescott underwent an MRI after suffering a hamstring injury in the second half of Dallas' 27-21 loss. The results were worse than initially feared. Pelissero added that the club has not yet decided whether to place Prescott on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games.

Prescott will seek a second medical opinion to confirm treatment options.

This news means the Philadelphia Eagles will face a backup quarterback when they travel to AT&T Stadium in Week 10. Cooper Rush was the No. 2 guy behind Prescott this season, but the Cowboys also have Trey Lance on their roster.

The Cowboys obviously struggled even when Prescott was healthy; They have lost three games in a row and fell to 3-5. Prescott has turned the ball over nine times in his eight starts and Mike Zimmer's defense is allowing the second-most offensive points per game this season.

On paper, there is every reason why the Eagles should be able to hold their own against an inferior opponent. The Birds are now up to seven points away favorites after opening at -6.5.

Prescott's injury isn't the only medical issue the Cowboys are dealing with. CeeDee Lamb is dealing with a shoulder injury that appears to be causing him discomfort, although he may end up playing against the Eagles. Micah Parsons hasn't played since Week 4.

Division games could be more competitive than expected and it's possible the Cowboys could back up a backup quarterback. However, this appears to be the Eagles' best opportunity to truly bury Dallas by falling to 3-6 before Prescott potentially misses any more starts.

The Eagles haven't won in Dallas since 2017. It's time for that to change.
