For everything we know Yellowstone Season 6, read below.

Will there be a season 6 of? Yellowstone?

Apparently yes! Paramount had previously announced that the sixth season had been scrapped in favor of a sequel, which would reportedly star Matthew McConaughey. For some reason, McConaughey never officially signed on to the project and/or Paramount took a different route. The network now has its eye on Select Yellowstone Cast members (not named Kevin Costner) return for another season. Season 6 will likely run in conjunction with the new spin-off series. The Madison, with Pfeiffer and Fox. The spin-off is said to take place in the same universe as Yellowstone But follow an entirely new family called the Clyburns. Series creator Taylor Sheridan is also reportedly working on another prequel spin-off set in 1944.

What about the return of Kevin Costner?

Of course it continues Yellowstone This past season 5B — set to premiere this November — significantly complicates Sheridan's alleged feud with Costner. The series was originally supposed to end without its leading patriarch and ends the Dutton saga later this year. Now the actor's behind-the-scenes battle with Sheridan over filming schedules and contracts is more confusing than ever.

However, the actor has stated that he will not be there YellowstoneThe final episodes of Season 5B may no longer be the end of the series. Worse, part of Costner's contract dispute revolved around the actor's claim that he should be paid for a potential sixth and seventh seasons of Yellowstonewhich the network questioned when it decided to end the series after Season 5B. That is no longer the case.

Puck also reported on it at the beginning of the year Costner's team actually “still demanded that Sheridan bring him back to complete his story arc.” Although Costner will not appear in Season 5B, continuing the series into Season 6 would give Paramount more time to work out a new contract with the actor. Then the network could either finish his character's story on screen or even include him in the show. We just need Paramount to officially tell us WTF is going on!

Yellowstone Luke Grimes

Of utmost importance

From whom Yellowstone would return for a sequel?

Okay, where does the story even go from here?

When we last left the Dutton family, everyone was preparing to kill each other. In the midseason finale, Jamie (Wes Bentley) considers impeaching his father in order to win his seat as governor and finally get revenge. But when John (Costner) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) escalate the conflict themselves, it turns violent before Jamie has the chance to make the first move. Beth breaks into Jamie's apartment and bashes her brother's head in with a rock – only to threaten that she can finish the job whenever she wants. Then Jamie considers committing murder himself. When Yellowstone When we eventually return, the conflict will likely become even more violent for some of our main cast.

Basically, Season 5B's plot is the perfect way to kill off every character whose actor hasn't signed a new contract to move on Yellowstone. Namely Costner. At the same time, there was no mention of Bentley's return in rumors. So far we've only seen reports of Reilly, Houser and Luke Grimes (Kayce), meaning all three of their characters will likely survive the events of season five. It remains unknown how Yellowstone will deal with John Dutton's death, but it's possible that the Dutton family patriarch dies off-screen as he won't be returning for the final episodes. It might not feel right Yellowstone fans, but a quick, unseen death might be the easiest way for the series to move on.
