How to report voting problems

If you see voting problems, you can report them through the Voter Fraud Hotline at (800) 328-VOTE or online at ag.ky.gov, according to Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman.

On Election Day, the hotline will be answered by members of the Attorney General's team from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET. Tips are investigated and allegations of election fraud are forwarded to the Attorney General's Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The attorney general's office took 328 calls regarding voting before Election Day, including 19 in Fayette County.

Many calls to the hotline were about procedural or legal issues, but some were about “campaigning” (endorsement of candidates or issues too close to the polling place) or allegations of campaign violations, vote buying/selling, or intimidation of voters and people who attempted to vote more than once.

In Fayette County, there were four calls for campaign violations, three for campaign violations and five involving or from an election official.

There were complaints related to voting machines in 11 Kentucky counties. The Attorney General's Office is not releasing specific information about the ongoing investigation, but allegations of a “vote swap” in Laurel County have been investigated and found to be unfounded.
