Clouds, rain are close to departure, with some afternoon sunshine expected in North Texas

The sun could appear in North Texas on Election Day.

After several wet days, rain clouds are expected to temporarily ease on Tuesday, just in time for voters to head to polling stations to cast their votes. According to the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth, there is a 20% chance of persistent showers before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

What voters in Dallas County need to know before Election Day

Voters who go to the polls a little later could find better weather. Clouds are expected to persist after possible morning rain, but will gradually dissipate as the day progresses and the sun will likely not appear until later. Wind speeds of between 10 and 15 miles per hour are also expected Tuesday afternoon, the weather service said.
