PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Tuesday is Election Day and Pennsylvania plays a crucial role in the 2024 presidential election as its 19 electoral votes represent the largest prize among the swing states expected to decide the Electoral College outcome.

According to ABC News, the two candidates were deadlocked in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate will help determine control of the chamber. There is also a focus on Senate elections in New Jersey and Delaware. The Democrats currently only have a narrow majority in the Senate.

Now it's up to the voters.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said Tuesday that voting behavior was “more aggressive” on Election Day in the city.

However, Krasner said there have been no arrests.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said Tuesday that election behavior in the city was “more aggressive.”

The Attorney General's Office says voters who encounter irregularities at their polling place can call the DAO Election Task Force hotline at 215-686-9641.

Voters are also encouraged to contact the national nonpartisan election protection hotline: 866-OUR-VOTE.

Voters with questions about the voting process should contact the Philadelphia City Commissioners' Office at 215-686-VOTE.

If voters experience violence or physical threats at their polling place, they are urged to call 911 immediately.

In one county in Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, hours were extended after polls opened late

A Pennsylvania judge has ordered Luzerne County to extend voting hours in Laflin County.

The polling station in this district will now close on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.

Polls there opened late Tuesday, leaving some voters unable to cast their ballots.

Voting did not begin until 8:30 a.m., about 90 minutes after statewide voting began at 7:00 a.m.

Laflin Borough is located southwest of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Fixed technical issues in elections in Burlington Co., NJ

The technical problems that blocked lines in Burlington County, New Jersey on Tuesday morning have now been resolved.

County spokesman Dave Levinsky said the problems affected some, but not all, polling places in the county and were varied in nature.

Levinsky said challenges Tuesday morning included connection issues and problems with poll workers getting the machines to work.

He said the problems were not caused by anything “nefarious” and that his office was trying to get the word out that the problems had since been resolved.

He said polls close at 8 p.m., but anyone in Burlington County who is in line to vote by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Due to technical issues, voting times have been extended in Western Pennsylvania County

A Pennsylvania judge ordered voting hours in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, extended by two hours after technical problems occurred at the site on Tuesday.

According to the order, polls will now close at 10 p.m. and all ballots cast after 8 p.m. will be cast through provisional ballots.

Cambria County is west of Altoona.
