See red? Social media is abuzz over First Lady Jill Biden's Election Day outfit

There was a buzz on social media on Election Day when First Lady Jill Biden wore a red Republican pants suit to cast her vote.

President Biden announced in late July that he would end his re-election bid after mounting pressure from fellow Democrats and a difficult debate against former President Trump in June. Since then, Biden has been largely absent from the campaign, although his Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on the ballot as his successor.

The Republican Party is synonymous with the color red, and the color is used in on-screen maps to indicate which states support former President Trump. The First Lady's wardrobe choices quickly caused a stir.

“Jill Biden wears the red of the GOP to cast her vote. Joe Biden skips the Kamala Harris watch party. Do the math,” conservative influencer Ian Miles Cheong posted on X.

“Jill wore all red to vote. As the wife of a Democratic politician, there's no way she knows what that looks like. Biden and Jill are pissed,” one user replied on X.

“Jill Biden is wearing MAGA red to vote today,” another pointed out.
