Runnin' Utes rout Braves on opening night 100-59

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team pulled away midway through the first half en route to its 100-59 victory over Alcorn State on Monday night to open the 2024-25 season at home at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

It took a little while for the Utes (1-0) to get the engine going, but the offense finally found its rhythm as the media was down just 16-13 at the 11:45 mark and led 19-19 at halftime went. half points off Gabe Madsen – who finished with a game-high 27 points.

Mike Sharavjamts had an efficient night, scoring 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting and 5 assists. Miro Little filled the statistics with 6 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds.

  • Utah is now 91-26 overall in home openers and 82-13 all-time when those home openers also serve as season openers
