Nearly 600 flights are delayed at DIA Airport as snow blankets the Denver metro area

Nearly 600 flights were delayed at Denver International Airport Wednesday afternoon as the metro was covered in snow.

According to FlightAware, there were 587 flight delays as of 2:45 p.m. Four flights were canceled.

According to FlightAware data, airlines United, Southwest and SkyWest reported the most delays.

More snow is expected to fall across the Front Range later this week, with up to a foot in Denver, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
