Rosie Perez reveals who 'hooked' Tupac Shaklur to Madonna?

Rosie Perez revealed that she was the one who brought Tupac Shaklur together with Madonna.

At an appearance on The Drew Barrymore ShowPerez shared that she played the intermediary between her close friend Tupac Shakur and pop icon Madonna.

Perez shared how three decades ago she introduced the late rapper and the… Material girl Singer at the 1993 Soul Train Music Awards.

Perez, 60, revealed that Shakur stepped in as her date at the last minute after her original date was canceled shortly before the event.

“My date called and said, 'I can't go with you because my girlfriend is going to see me,'” she shared. Shortly thereafter, Shakur called her and offered to attend the event with her, assuring her, “We're going to go in there like we're on a date and he's going to die.”

At the awards show, Perez met Madonna, who asked if she and Shakur were dating. After Perez made it clear that they were just friends, Madonna asked if she could introduce her to him. Perez happily agreed and replied, “You got it!”

Shakur and Madonna kept their romance largely private and reportedly dated on and off for nearly two years until they separated in January 1995.
