University of Oregon employee placed on leave after telling Trump voters they would 'jump off the damn bridge'

EUGENE Ore. (KPTV) – A Greek life trustee at the University of Oregon was placed on leave Thursday after posting an offensive response to the election results.

“You can literally go fuck yourself if you voted for Donald Trump. If you're so sad about your groceries being expensive, get a better paying job. Make it better for yourself. Get a damn education. Because you're fucking stupid. And I hope you jump off the damn bridge.”

Leonard Serrato, assistant director of The Ducks' Fraternity and Sorority Life, posted this rant mocking Trump supporters on his Instagram Story. He has since been placed on paid administrative leave and the video is no longer online.

The university said in a statement: “The statements made in the video are abhorrent and not consistent with our values or mission.” We have launched an investigation and are reviewing the matter in light of university policies and the individual's role as a public servant. “

It also garnered national attention when Donald Trump Jr. responded to a repost of the video: “It's disgusting but not surprising that a public university employee would speak like this about more than half the country.”

Seratto's page marked as a “personal blog.” has since been deleted.

Previously, Seratto served as a public speaker, teaching students about the harms of hazing culture, and as a campus advisor for fraternity and sorority life at Sonoma State University. He also served as associate director of Sorority and Fraternity Life at Indiana University.

In 2014, Serrato spent three months in prison after bringing alcohol to an underage party at Fresno State, where another student died in a hazing incident at a fraternity. Serrato was a student at the time of this incident in 2012.
