Twitch can be a pretty cutthroat business even at the best of times, with multiple big personalities competing for records, viewers, and subscriber counts. It's a very competitive place with hundreds of streamers competing with each other, but the record for the streamer with the most subscribers on the platform was completely broken by Ironmouse, overtaking the previous record held by KaiCenat.

Before today, KaiCenat's record was a whopping 306,521 subscribers, set in March 2023 after a subathon that lasted the entire month of February. At the time of writing, Ironmouse now has a subscriber count of 313,000, a completely mind-boggling number that is still rising at the time of writing. You can check out the moment Ironmouse broke the record below.

Given the good vibes that Ironmouse exudes, it's no surprise that there have been countless congratulations from fans and previous record holders on social media since breaking the record. For example, the popular streamer Ludwig congratulated Ironmouse on overtaking his old record and wished her all the best and that she would break the all-time record. Well, she definitely did.

It's also worth noting that four hours ago, Ironmouse surpassed Ludwig's previous record of 283,066 subscribers, meaning she gained tens of thousands of subscribers in just a few hours.

Twitch itself also acknowledged the successcongratulated Ironmouse on breaking the record, and Ironmouse herself posted a thank you on Twitter before heading out. In the tweet, she thanks her fans for “changing my life” and calls her community the “best in the universe.”

I'd love to give you a definitive total number of Ironmouse subscribers right away, but that's actually impossible at the moment. Somehow the streamer's subathon lasts another week, during which she will gain even more subscribers. Many people are also reporting that Ironmouse's subscriber count is also lagging quite a bit, so we could be here for a while.

Ironmouse's plan is to get the highest number of subscribers possible so that the record can stay there for as long as possible. She's also donating half of the proceeds from this subathon to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, so more subs means more money for a good cause. Kai Cenat will almost certainly break the record again, but whether he will actually be able to surpass the massive number set by Ironmouse remains to be seen.
