Dame Dash questions JAY-Z's silence amid federal charges against Diddy

Damon Dash shared his reaction to the federal indictment accusing Sean “Diddy” Combs of sex trafficking, extortion and sexual assault, and expressed his hope that the mogul is innocent of the charges against him. In an episode on his YouTube channel Nu America Network, he called Diddy's alleged transgressions “horrible” but stressed that he has no animosity toward the Bad Boy Records founder. “Watching what’s going on with Puff doesn’t feel good,” the Harlem native began. “I don’t want to see anyone… die or be tortured,” he added. “I will not celebrate the pain of anyone, no person, even if they deserve it. The things they say…they're terrible. I find it hard to believe that any of this can be true. I don't want them to be true. They say they will pick him up next year. I don’t want this man to go to prison.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs attends the 2022 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 15, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Elsewhere in the episode, Dash questioned why his former business partner and nemesis JAY-Z has yet to comment on the looming allegations against Combs, who has turned into a media and cultural pariah in the wake of the allegations against him. Dash says he would be disappointed if JAY-Z was in any way associated with Combs' questionable and criminal behavior, given their personal history and JAY's relationship with his eldest son Boogie Dash. “As much as he was unfair or not unfair to me,” Dame said, referencing her ongoing legal battle regarding Dash’s ownership of Roc-A-Fella Records and Hov’s album Reasonable Doubt. “The way he would handle my money, I would like to hope that's the worst thing he's done.”

Shawn Carter attends the Los Angeles premiere of “The Harder They Fall” at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on October 13, 2021 in Los Angeles, California. The 53-year-old continued, adding: “I would never want to hear anything like 'Jay at the Freak Off Party,' that's crazy.” The shit they say and I just wonder why no one… “Any unsavory accusations against JAY-Z would be another devastating blow to hip-hop, given Hov's reputation and respect within the culture and society as a whole. “Regardless of perception, Jay is also a pillar of hip-hop, and if something bad happens to him, it will look really crazy for hip-hop,” Dash surmised.

“Jay is supposed to be my son’s godfather. How does he do this to Boogie's godson's father?” The serial entrepreneur reiterated his hope for the opposite, concluding: “There are some levels that I know are dark, but I just hope it isn't is so dark.” Watch Damon Dash discuss the charges against Sean “Diddy” Combs and JAY-Z's silence on the matter below.
