“I have surgery scheduled and need time to heal”

Donald Glover has canceled the remaining dates of his 2024 Childish Gambino tour in North America and Europe.

The news that Glover will be unable to continue performing comes after he announced in September that he was postponing the tour to focus on his health.

“After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to confirm I had an obvious medical condition,” Glover shared in a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “After assessment it became clear that I would not be performing that evening and after further testing I was unable to complete the remainder of the US tour in the required time. Surgery is scheduled at the moment and I need some time off to heal.

Glover, who performs under his stage name Childish Gambino, continued: “My journey to recovery is something I need to seriously address. With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour, as well as the UK and European dates. Tickets will be refunded upon purchase.”

The Community Alum added, “I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thank you for the love, privacy and support.”

Glover did not disclose his health concerns, but announced on September 9 that he was postponing his tour dates after falling ill. At the time, the actor seemed to be hoping the dates would be rescheduled.

“Hello everyone. Unfortunately, I have to postpone the remainder of the North American tour for a few weeks to focus on my physical health,” Glover wrote on X. “Hold your tickets. ALL tickets for upcoming North American dates will be honored if rescheduled. Thanks for the privacy. Thanks for the support. Thank you for the love.”
