Sabrina Carpenter Sings “Espresso” on “The Tonight Show”: Watch

She works long hours because she keeps singing The Tonight Show. Sabrina Carpenter returned to the late-night program on Thursday night (October 3) to perform her hit “Espresso” and give Jimmy Fallon's audience a caffeine boost after dark.

The 25-year-old pop star took the stage in a baby blue leotard — surrounded by a full band and white-clad backup singers — and delivered silky vocals and sassy choreography before sneaking over to Fallon's interview setup in his swivel chair for a ride and a lie-in his desk. “Now he thinks about me every night, oh/ Is that so sweet? I think so,” she sang. “Say you can’t sleep, baby, I know/ That’s my espresso.”

The appearance came just over a month after Carpenter's visit The Tonight Show to perform their Billboard Hot 100 top single “Please Please Please.” Since this appearance, the musician's album has been released Short and sweet spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking her first LP to reach the top of the chart.

Carpenter has also since embarked on her first-ever arena tour, opening September 23 in Columbus. Four days before her last one Tonight's show Stop, she was headlining New York's Madison Square Garden.

In the middle of the hike, the Girl meets world alum has spoken out against lip-syncing accusations and critics that she embraces her sexuality on stage. In a recent TikTok speculating about the former, Carpenter commented: “I sing 100% live at every show. Would you like to speak to my sound engineers?”

And in her new one TIME In the cover story, Carpenter offered her input on the latter. “Sometimes there is still a mother who has a strong opinion about how you should dress,” she told the publication. “And to that I just say: Don’t come to the show, that’s fine. It's unfortunate that there was ever any reason for criticism because, honestly, going on stage in front of so many people and acting like it's nothing is the scariest thing in the world. If the only thing that helps you is the way you feel comfortable when you dress, then that’s what you need to do.”
