Thanks to Bill's blunder, the Dolphins remain alive in the AFC East race

The Miami Dolphins don't have much room to brag right now after having one heck of a game against the New England Patriots. The Dolphins narrowly won the dumpster fire by a score of 15-10 and are now 2-3 on the year.

Meanwhile, in Houston, the Texans and Buffalo Bills lost until the end, even though the Texans held a 20-3 lead. The Bills tied the game at 20 points and had a chance to win the game in the final minute. For some reason, Buffalo decided to throw the ball on all three plays, with all three plays being incomplete and therefore stopping the clock.

This meant the Bills sent the football back to Houston with 16 seconds left. CJ Stroud completed a pass and Ka'imi Fairbairn scored the winner, giving the Texans the win. The Bills initially had a chance to win the game and assumed they would settle for the tie, only to lose the game.

The loss dropped Buffalo to 3-2, giving them just a one-game lead in the AFC East. Yes, the Bills won the head-to-head tiebreaker against Miami, but the fact that the Dolphins were able to get a win (as ugly as that win was) while the Bills lost a winnable game is a big win for the Fins.

Let's address the elephant in the room here: These Dolphins are not the same as the one we saw a season ago that gave the Broncos 70 points to start the year. These Dolphins have trouble moving the football, and that already seemed to be the case before Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion. They don't play very inspired football and a win against the Patriots won't change the mood of the fans.

But in the NFL, wins are wins, and the Dolphins took care of their game while the Bills missed a golden opportunity to take a huge lead in the division. Now the Bills and Jets play next Monday night with the division lead on the line.

If Tua Tagovailoa is free and can help give the Dolphins an offensive spark, perhaps this team can benefit from this weekend's development.
