In return, Oregon is bringing in O-lineman Douglas Utu from Tennessee

Five-star offensive lineman Douglas Utu, ESPN's No. 13 overall pick in the 2025 cycle, switched his commitment from Tennessee to Oregon on Thursday morning.

Utu initially decided to go to Tennessee on June 24 after an official visit with the volunteers. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound blocker, ESPN's fourth-ranked offensive tackle in 2025, was part of a stellar offensive line class heading to Tennessee that also included No. 1 offensive tackle David Sanders before he kept his promise.

He visited USC in Week 2 before decommitting to the Ducks. He is now Oregon's second-ranked prospect in the entry-level class. With Utu and No. 1 wide receiver Dakorien Moore (No. 3 in the ESPN 300), Dan Lanning appears poised to land his first two five-star signings as Ducks coach when the early signing period begins on Dec. 4.

Utu is a big boost for an Oregon recruiting class that, before his commitment, was ranked No. 8 in ESPN's latest 2025 team rankings. Oregon now has commitments from 12 ESPN 300 prospects, led by Moore, four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson (No. 33 in the ESPN 300) and standouts Trey McNutt (No. 35) and Dorian Brew (No. 45).

Utu, a four-year starter at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, started at right tackle last fall as Bishop Gorman went 12-0 and captured the Nevada 5A Division I state title. Utu is one of the most experienced offensive players in the country and has great upside at both the tackle and guard positions at the next level.

No. 8 Oregon is off to a 3-0 start and visits UCLA for its first-ever Big Ten game on Saturday (11 p.m. ET, Fox).
