Aaron Rodgers' lack of mobility in the pocket entering the 2024 season was highlighted by an anonymous NFL coach.

“You know the slide and then he takes two steps and then he steps out every time in Green Bay?” the coach told Mike Sando of The Athletic. “He slips, takes two steps and is now released. He needs to watch the film and be honest with himself and say, 'I'm broken, I'm not moving as fast anymore, so throw it away.' More 55-60 percent.' (Completion rate) games, not 70.

Rodgers has only been sacked 13 times all season, but there have been eight sackings in the last two games. The Jets lost both games, including a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in London.

It's not the 40-year-old's fault that his ability to move around the pocket has declined compared to his tenure with the Green Bay Packers, which included four MVP awards. He is currently the oldest active player in the NFL and is recovering from a season-ending Achilles tendon injury in 2023.

In five starts this season, Rodgers has completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,093 yards and seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He had a lot of trouble with turnovers against Minnesota as he was subbed off three times.

While Rodgers has earned a reputation for extending plays and finding receivers on the run throughout his career, he could look to get rid of the ball under pressure and avoid big hits to maintain his health for the rest of the season.

The Jets will look to end their current two-game losing streak against a division rival in Week 6 by taking on the Buffalo Bills.
