Sean Manaea, the incredible ace

Sean Manaea outdueled Aaron Nola and stunned the Phillies for more than seven innings, with the Mets' second-half ace also establishing himself as a playoff ace.

Phillies fireballer Jose Alvarado faced five batters in the seventh inning and allowed three to get through.

He was retired before Jose Ruiz allowed a two-run single to Jose Iglesias.

Unsung hero

The Mets' gloves deserve recognition.

Mark Vientos speared an Alec Bohm grounder down the third base line and threw one out from foul territory in the second inning, before Bohm was robbed again two innings later by Tyrone Taylor, who fired a hit off the wall and a rocket with his bare hands Francisco sent Lindor, who made a clever tag at second base.
