Penguins Game 1, season begins! lines, notes

The Pittsburgh Penguins (0-0-0) host the New York Rangers at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday and the first puck drop of the 2024-25 season begins a six-month battle for the Penguins to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs .

There has been a lot of excitement in the Penguins locker room in recent days as the team looks to build on the positive vibes of last season's final stretch. Although they missed out on a place in the playoffs, they picked up nine points with a series of wins in the last few weeks.

“You know, all the hard work, all the preparation, seeing this come into play and getting ready to start,” Penguins captain Sidney Crosby said Monday. “I think we all just feel that.”
