Ector ISD receives the highest fiscal responsibility rating in the state

Ector ISD receives the highest fiscal responsibility rating in the state

Ector, Texas – Ector Independent School District officials announced that the district has received an “A” rating for “Outstanding Performance” under the Texas School FIRST Financial Accountability Rating System. The Superior Achievement rating is the highest in the state and demonstrates the quality of Ector ISD's financial management and reporting system.

School FIRST's primary goal is to achieve high-quality performance in the management of school districts' financial resources, a goal made even more important by the accounting complexities associated with Texas' school finance system.

“We are pleased with Ector ISD’s School FIRST rating,” said Jennifer Morris, Ector ISD superintendent. “This rating shows that our district is making the most of our taxpayers’ dollars. This evaluation demonstrates that Ector ISD is accountable not only for student learning, but also for achieving those outcomes in a cost-effective and efficient manner.”

The Texas Education Agency has assigned Texas school districts one of four financial responsibility ratings, with the highest being “A” for “Superior Achievement,” followed by “B” for “Achievement Above Standard,” and “C” for “Standard Achievement.” and “F” for “Substandard Achievement.”
