MJF wraps up Happy Gilmore 2; Reportedly getting another film role

MJF hasn't wrestled for AEW since All Out in Chicago, but the former world champion has kept busy outside of the ring as well.

Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp reports that Maxwell has now completed filming on the set of Happy Gilmore 2, which is currently in production for a March 2025 release on Netflix.

Although no official details about his character have been released, it is believed that MJF will make more than just a cameo appearance. PWInsider has heard that MJF will portray one of star Adam Sandler's sons in the long-awaited sequel. A working man from New England with a love of hockey, just like his father.

According to Fightful, MJF has been on set throughout September and is expected back on AEW programming sooner rather than later after he finishes filming.

Ross Sapp also reports that MJF has secured a role in another Hollywood project, but he was able to provide very few details other than that it is a feature film with Justin Long and Ron Pearlman already attached to the project .

Deadline reported earlier this summer that Long and Perlman had been cast in Clark Duke's upcoming film titled Cast Chokeholdbut the production of this film is already completed. There is no indication that MJF was involved in this project, but it is possible that he filmed his scenes before anything about his casting came to light.

We'll share more details on MJF's foray into Hollywood as they become available.
