Duclair scored a power play goal to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead at 11:10 of the first period. Dobson's wrist shot from the top deflected off Duclair's skate and went past Ingram's left pad.

Utah denied the game for goaltender interference, but the call stood after a video review.

Crouse tied the game at 1-1 with his own power play goal at 19:01, beating Varlamov with a one-timer from the slot over his glove.

Barrett Hayton gave Utah a 2-1 lead at 13:07 of the second period. He deflected Sergachev's one-timer from the top of the left blocker side.

Bo Horvat evened the score at 2-2 at 1:03 of the third period by sinking a one-timer in the bottom slot after a pass from Duclair behind the net.

Pageau then gave the Islanders a 3-2 lead with a shorthanded goal at 6:52. Simon Holmstrom's first shot from the rush was stopped by Ingram, but Pageau fired the rebound into the open net.

However, Günther scored the equalizer 3:3 after 7:37 in the same power play. He beat Varlamov's blocking side with a one-timer from the left faceoff dot after a cross-ice feed from Keller.

“I think we have a strong team,” said Günther. “Something we pride ourselves on is that we have four lines that can roll over, keep going and lock teams down. “Throughout the game we were pretty confident about getting chances and it's one of those things where we believed in each other in that room.” So if you go down, it’s pretty easy to come back.”
