Bryan Danielson's full-time in-ring career came to an end tonight at AEW WrestleDream.

At the finish, Jon Moxley blocked Danielson with a sleeper hold choke, causing the referee to stop the match.

After the match, they provoke a save from Darby Allin and Wheeler Yuta, but Yuta turns on Allin. Yuta puts the bag over Danielson's head and finally helps get to the ring, but the damage is already done. Danielson is placed on a stretcher as WrestleDream goes off the air.

AEW World Championship: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Jon Moxley (with Marina Shafir)

Mox attacks Danielson before the bell and they brawl at ringside as “The Final Countdown” continues to blare in the arena. They continue to fight (as the music plays, New Jack ECW style). Things finally calm down and the music stops before the bell rings. Danielson counters with an early knee and a dive to the floor. Moxley hits the announce table with a pile driver and the crowd chants “f*ck you Moxley” in response.

Moxley continues to target Danielson’s neck. Marina interferes behind the referee's back, then Moxley slowly takes Danielson apart. Marina rips up the mats on the floor and Moxley drags him over. A fan clashes with Moxley and Danielson uses the distraction to throw Moxley to the concrete. Danielson hits some kicks and heads up top, but Moxley rolls away after a flying head kick. Moxley hits a curb stomp and lands right into a bulldog choke.

Eventually, Marina is caught cheating and thrown out by the referee. Mox gets some early strikes, but Danielson fights back with a running knee for a two count. In the end, Moxley counters a dive from Danielson and slams the Death Rider to the concrete. Mox whispers something to Danielson and repeatedly elbows him in the neck. Moxley hits a Gotch-style piledriver and applies a rear choke. Danielson fades… Moxley smothers him!
