Weather in Dallas: Temperatures are expected to rise near record highs on Sunday

Temperatures in North Texas will rise to near record highs on Sunday.

Sunny skies and a west-southwest wind will help temperatures rise to the upper 90s on Sunday.

The record high temperature on October 13th at DFW Airport is 97 degrees.

We will see several cold fronts this week that will help bring temperatures down.

The first is expected to arrive after sunset this evening.

The front was expected to clear the area by Monday morning. It won't be particularly cool, but depending on where you live, we'll wake up to temperatures in the 60s and even 50s.

Temperatures will peak around 80 on Monday, but if you live in the north it could be cooler.

Temperatures will rise again on Tuesday before a second stronger cold front arrives on Tuesday night and we get a real taste of autumn.

On Wednesday we will have lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s! Some people further north and northeast will experience temperatures only above 60°.

7 day forecast

The taste of fall should continue into Thursday, with morning temperatures in the 40s to mid 50s and afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

It will be warmer again towards the end of the week.

We're keeping an eye on the weekend for a storm system that could move out of the Rocky Mountains.

It could bring much-needed rain to North Texas, or we could just see humidity and clouds.
