The long-awaited trade reunites Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers with the Jets

Former Green Bay Packers teammates Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers are reuniting. The long-awaited trade came Tuesday when NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Las Vegas Raiders had agreed to trade Adams to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round pick that could go as high as the second round depending on his performance .

After a disappointing home loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, Rodgers and the Jets fell to 2-4 in six games. Now Rodgers will have another proven weapon as the Jets look to turn their season around.

Adams and Rodgers spent eight seasons together in Green Bay (2014-21).

According to pro-football-reference.com, Rodgers completed 693 passes on 1,044 targets for 8,537 yards and 76 touchdowns while targeting Adams during the regular season and postseason with the Packers. No player has had more catches, targets, yards or touchdowns while playing with Rodgers in his NFL career.

In 2021, the pair's final season together with the Packers, Adams set franchise records for catches (123) and receiving yards (1,553). In 2020, Adams caught 18 touchdown passes, an NFL high.

The Packers traded Adams to the Raiders in the 2022 draft for first- and second-round picks. A year later, they traded Rodgers to the Jets for two second-round picks and two pick swaps, including a first-round swap in the 2023 draft.

Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, was dealing with a hamstring injury. The Jets play the Pittsburgh Steelers in prime time on Sunday Night Football in Week 7.
