Sydney Sweeney looks unrecognizable in new role transformation

Sydney Sweeney gets a dramatic new look.

The euphoria The actress underwent a shocking transformation on October 11 when she appeared as a boxer Christy Martin for an upcoming film about the champion's life that is virtually unrecognizable.

In photos from the set in North Carolina, Sydney has ditched her striking blonde locks for a neck-length brunette hairstyle held back by a navy headscarf. That's it at a glance White lotus Alum also wore a loose zip-up sweatshirt in a navy shade, worn with a tan t-shirt, dark sweatpants, and white sneakers. In another scene, the 27-year-old wore oversized, knee-length gray sweat shorts and a light blue T-shirt.

For the as yet unnamed project – Director: David Michod—Sydney will star alongside him Ben Foster, Merritt Wever And Katy O'Brian as she portrays the Boxing Hall of Famer who married her former boxing trainer James Martin.

For Sydney, portraying a real-life athlete represents a new challenge that she enjoys as both an actress and a producer.

“I’m a very hands-on person,” Sydney said The Los Angeles Times in March. “I like bringing in ideas, being a part of them and helping to find solutions. It just changes the entire process. It's so hard for me now to be on set and not be able to help and act in any way. And the opportunity to actually have a voice and have a valued opinion – that means so much.”

And the priority for them Everyone but you Star is passionate about the authenticity of every role she takes on, as she noted that she is comfortable even going nude if there is a reason for it.

“It all depends on whether it serves the character or not,” Sydney continued. “I’m living someone else’s life. So if it serves the development or emotional state of a character, then it makes sense. It just depends on the character. I really see everything that way.”

This character work is a process that Sydney learned early on to balance with her personal life.

“I started working with Andy (my friend's father) and we just talked about character work,” she explained. “The most important thing he always told me was to make sure I distance myself from my characters as much as possible. Don’t place any of my own memories, emotions, feelings, people, relationships, or anything else in my characters’ minds so I can pop in and out.”
