Maksim Chmerkovskiy recalls that Peta Murgatroyd saved Charlie Sheen from the stalker

There are some connecting lines in between Dancing with the stars' Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Two and a half menThis is Charlie Sheen. For one thing, they used to be neighbors, and Chmerkovskiy once dated Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards on a season DWTS. But Chmerkovskiy's wife Peta Murgatroyd also once saved Sheen from murder!

“The world is a tiny place, but I ended up being next door to Charlie Sheen for about three years,” Chmerkovskiy revealed on Wednesday's episode Behind the Velvet Rope Podcast. “And my wife Peta actually saved him from some crazy job that was trying to, some girl was trying to kill him or something. I don't know if she fell in love. Peta intervened and wrestled with her. I mean, it was a huge story, by the way. I won't talk about it.

Sheen has had his fair share of run-ins over the years with fans he reportedly found too enthusiastic, and was even investigated by the LAPD's stalking unit himself in 2016. But Chmerkovskiy's claim that Sheen was once mortally threatened by a fan and that he was subsequently rescued by the DWTSPro-wife of the former his ex-wife DWTS Partner is a revelation.

Representatives for Chmerkovskiy, Murgatroyd and Sheen did not immediately respond Weekly entertainmentPlease comment.

The story emerged on the sidelines of a larger discussion about Chmerkovskiy's evolving feelings about his time as one of them DWTSThe most important advantages. Upon request from velvet rope Host David Yontef: “How was it working with Denise Richards?” Chmerkovskiy replied Wild things And RHOBH Star was “amazing,” “awesome,” and “lovely,” and that it was a “small world” in which he ended up living next to her ex-husband.

Richards and Chmerkovskiy competed in the eighth season of Dancing with the stars in 2009. They finished 12th in the overall competition, Chmerkovskiy's worst finish in all of his 17 seasons.

“She loved dancing. She wanted to do the show. She just wasn’t a very good dancer,” Chmerkoskiy explained. “I wish I could have done better… With Denise, she needed more time. With more time and more preparation she would have done better, but we just didn’t have that time.”

Sheen withdrew from the public eye in 2015 after announcing his HIV diagnosis. The following year, he revealed his bipolar diagnosis. Legal troubles followed, including his lawsuit against Two and a half men Creator Chuck Lorre, Corey Feldman's claim that Sheen raped him during the filming of the 1986 film Lucas, and a recent incident in which he was attacked by a neighbor.

Since then he has only made one film appearance 2017s 9/11 – a 2023 cameo appearance as himself in the Max comedy series Bookmaker.

Dancing with the stars Season 33, which this time does not feature Chmerkoskiy or Murgatroyd in the cast, airs Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
