The basketball world reacts to Sabrina Ionescu's game-winning three-pointer in the 2024 WNBA Finals

The New York Liberty are just one win away from their first WNBA championship and it's thanks to the heroics of Sabrina Ionescu.

The sharpshooter had the ball in her hands with less than 20 seconds left in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals against the Minnesota Lynx. With the score tied at 77 apiece, Ionescu played Iso at the top of the key before making her signature step-back three-pointer.

However, that shot came from the Lynx logo, but was no problem for Ionescu, who fired the shot to put the Liberty ahead by three points with one second left.

With the Liberty defense running out of time, New York celebrated a hard-fought victory in enemy territory.

It was an impressive performance for the Liberty, who trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half. But Breanna Stewart – who had a game-high 30 points, including 22 in the second half – helped New York hold on until they had a chance to win in the final seconds.

When Ionescu's three-pointer went down, the basketball world beamed at how impressed they were with the shot.

The Liberty and Lynx meet for Game 4 on Thursday night in Minnesota. One more win and New York will be champions.
