Cutter Gauthier sat on the bench twice in the third NHL game

Cutter Gauthier update:

Apparently Cutter Gauthier was demoted to the fourth line and taken off the power play for the time being. Didn't make a substitution in the last 8:38 minutes of the second period.

Both Brock McGinn and Brett Leason had no substitutions in the final seven minutes of the quarter…

For Cutter Gauthier, this evening is certainly a learning experience. He was substituted for the end of the second period and returned to his regular line and power play at the start of the third period.

Then he was benched again after being underwhelming in Utah's third game…

Greg Cronin on the decision to move cutter Gauthier down the lineup later in the game and exclude him from the power play:

Most surprisingly, there is an Anaheim Ducks reporter. This has to be the easiest beat in the world. You probably get a 1-on-1 with the coach every night. And no ill will towards Cutter Gauthier who left the Flyers, just an update here. He has 0 points and five shots on goal in three games. He gets the early Torts treatment here. At some point, Matvei Michkov is taken out of the game because he made a mistake, like just randomly running away and allowing Edmonton to score the game-winning goal in overtime. But at least Michkov scored two goals at the start of the game. Gauthier is preparing a donut so far, but it's still early.
