NEW DELHI: After a remarkable maiden Test century against New Zealand, Sarfaraz Khan opened up about the surreal experience of sharing the field with Virat Kohli.
Speaking to BCCI TV after his outstanding knock on Saturday, the young batsman shared that playing alongside Kohli was a dream come true.
“I have watched Virat Bhai since my childhood and playing with him was a dream come true at RCB. But I never thought that I would also play for India and share the dressing room with him,” said Sarfaraz.

Recalling Kohli's encouraging words while batting in the second innings, Sarfaraz added: “He told me to keep supporting my shots and play freely, just the way I feel comfortable. He gave me a lot of confidence, so this was a dream day for me.”
Sarfaraz's impressive 150 was the highlight of the fourth day in Bengaluru and helped India recover from a shaky position.
Working with Rishabh Pant, who narrowly missed out on a century with 99, Sarfaraz put together an important 177-run stand.

Their partnership not only stabilized India's innings but also helped the hosts to a commanding total of 462 runs in the second innings.
The day began with India trailing after the in-form Virat Kohli was dismissed for 70 on the last ball of the third day. However, Sarfaraz and Pant's counter-attack set the tone for India's counter-attack.
Although India lost four quick wickets after tea, including Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, the solid foundation of Sarfaraz and Pant ensured they had a healthy lead.
With New Zealand needing 107 runs on the final day, the game is set for an exciting conclusion.
