Oct 26 | Public Forum: Project 2025 What you need to know

Participate in the public discussion on Project 2025

The Conversation startera coalition of social advocates and activists, invites you to an open dialogue about this Project 2025 and its potential impact on our communities.

This public forum will focus on three critical areas:

  • Training: Project 2025 could expand school choice, reduce federal oversight and limit discussions of race and social justice in classrooms. Additionally, the possible dissolution of the Department of Education could dramatically change the way education standards and funding are managed, impacting all communities. Without a central oversight body for education, disparities between school districts could increase, impacting the quality of education and the future of youth across the United States, particularly in resource-poor areas. Rolling back diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives can further exacerbate inequities and disproportionately harm marginalized students.
  • Environment and climate: Project 2025 could weaken environmental and climate regulations, potentially accelerating pollution and hampering efforts to combat climate change. We will examine how this may impact public health, environmental justice, and the future of climate action, particularly for communities most affected by environmental degradation.
  • Executive power: Project 2025 could centralize executive power by increasing the president's direct control over federal agencies, allowing for faster implementation of policy changes, particularly in areas such as deregulation. This shift could have far-reaching implications for policy implementation and their long-term impact on society.

Together we will examine how these issues impact different segments of society, how they relate to the racial history of the United States, and their potential impact on social, economic, and political landscapes. This forum provides an opportunity for all community members to engage, share their perspectives, and contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable future.
