Delhi CM Atishi criticized the central government over the mysterious blast in Rohini on Sunday, with the BJP hitting back at the AAP leader.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi took aim at the central government over the mysterious explosion near a school in Rohini on Sunday that put the entire city on high alert. After a multi-agency probe was launched into the blast, Atishi criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the law and order situation in Delhi and compared the capital to Mumbai in the “underworld” era.

The blast in Delhi's Rohini district occurred around 7.47 a.m. on Sunday, sending shockwaves across the capital. No one was injured in the incident, but the blast ripped through the wall of a CRPF school in the area and damaged nearby cars.

Soon after the incident was reported, Delhi CM Atishi posted on to disrupt Delhi. This is why the situation in Delhi today is the same as it was in Mumbai during the underworld era. There's shooting outside, gangsters are extorting money and criminals are optimistic. The BJP has neither the intention nor the ability to deal with it.”

“If the people of Delhi inadvertently give them (BJP) the responsibility of governing Delhi, the condition of hospitals, electricity and water supply will be the same as the law and order situation in Delhi,” the chief minister added.

Reacting to the Atishi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP leader Shazia Ilmi called her a “puppet boss” and accused her of starting a political war over a very serious issue.

Ilmi told NDTV, “This is what the puppet CM is known for. If you let them speak on any issue, it is always about the center (thinking) about what should be done, a political blame game has begun. It is immature and irresponsible to always play politics on serious issues.”

The Rohini blast was carried out using a low-intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) controlled with a timer or remote control without fragments or ball bearings, Delhi Police sources told PTI.

Police are currently investigating whether there is a Khalistani connection behind the explosion after several posts about the incident appeared on social media suggesting this.
