“Dancing With the Stars” must put an end to this controversial practice

Dancing with the stars has been a staple of reality television since its premiere in 2005. Each season begins with a group of celebrities who must learn ballroom dances and perform them live each week to win the coveted mirror ball trophy. The series has seen many ups and downs over its 33 seasons, but there is one problem that has never been fully resolved in that time, and that is the voting system. Since the start of the show, viewers have had the opportunity to vote for their favorite star to keep them in the competition longer.

It's a fun way to engage fans, but it also presents a major problem since most viewers are not trained in ballroom dancing and therefore only vote based on who they prefer as a celebrity rather than a dancer.
