Hansi Flick shows a big tactical advantage from Lamine Yamal before the Clasico

Lamine Yamal will play a key role for Barcelona in tomorrow's El Clasico clash against Real Madrid.

La Blaugrana travels to the Spanish capital as the current La Liga leaders with a three-point lead over their old rivals.

Their 17-year-old star appeared in all three El Clasico games during his breakthrough 2023-24 season, including a start in Madrid in April.

However, as his development continues at a rapid pace, he will be crucial for the visitors as they aim for their first away win in the El Clasico league since 2022.

Before the game, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick spoke about Lamine Yamal's lasting influence on his team, despite his tender age.

Flick praised his modest progress and willingness to defend as part of the overall team performance, as seen in the 4-1 midweek UEFA Champions League win over Bayern Munich.

“I wanted several things from him for the game against Bayern Munich. The most important thing was to push Alphonso Davies from defense to midfield because when he starts attacking, we know how important he is,” Mundo Deportivo reports.

“Lamine Yamal is a fantastic player, you saw that against Bayern. The Bayern players watched him and kept an eye on him – that's a great honor. He has more than achieved the goals we set for him.”

Flick remained tight-lipped about his starting lineup plans for Real Madrid, but the German coach was able to stick with an unchanged squad since the win over his old side.
