Kanpur Weather Report Day 3: The toss is getting closer as there is still a risk of rain for the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh

The weather was the key takeaway from the first two days of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur. While only 35 overs were played on the first day of play, the second day was a complete bust as persistent rain made it impossible to play all day at Green Park.

Cricket fans are hoping that the weather cooperates on the third day and beyond so that the two teams can compete against each other on the remaining days of play.

According to Weather.com, thunderstorms are expected in Kanpur overnight, which is a bad sign for the morning session of the day as they will continue for most of the morning.

There is a 61% chance of rain when the game begins at 9:30 a.m. The weather is not expected to improve until around 12:30 p.m., when the amount of precipitation drops to 24%. There will be cloud cover.

Fans are hoping the Green Park team and drainage can help and allow play to start after lunch. Unfortunately, isolated thunderstorms are expected again around 2:30 p.m., meaning there could be a stop-start game day even when the teams take the field. Day 3 may not be a complete washout, but players and ground staff will likely see minimal play again.

Accuweather is more optimistic for the afternoon as the rain is expected to end before 11 a.m. and not return for the rest of the day. This will potentially allow teams to play the final two sessions of the day without interruption, setting the stage for an entertaining final two days, with the weather expected to be clear on the final two days.

What has happened so far in the 2nd test?

Bangladesh managed to reach 107-3 in the 35 overs of the game with Mominul Haque hitting 40* and Akash Deep taking two wickets for India.

Bangladesh got off to an alert start after Rohit Sharma brought Najmul Hossain Shanto's team into the game with Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan. Hasan would be dismissed for a 24-ball duck from Akash Deep, who would also catch the other opener lbw in the morning session.

Before the break in play, Ravichandran Ashwin added another wicket to the tally by dismissing Shanto LBW. Mominul Haque started slowly but started taking shots as possession increased, with Mushfiqur Rahim sharing the goal area by the end of the day's play.
