James Franklin apologizes for editing questions from Jameial Lyons and Kaveion Keys

Former Penn State player Jameial Lyons And Kaveion key Both face felony charges stemming from an incident last July. This news has been shared before James Franklin wanted to speak to the media on Wednesday but refused to answer questions on the matter. When someone was asked, he would step out for a brief moment before returning to the microphone.

A few days later, Franklin apologized for his actions. His press conference after the win against Wisconsin On Saturday he concluded by saying that he had not handled the situation well and had to learn and “get better” from the start.

“A difficult, difficult situation,” Franklin said. “And I have to admit that I didn’t do a good job. I understand you have a job to do. You have to ask these questions and I respect that. The university has issued a statement and the reality is that I can't say much else other than that statement.

“It is an ongoing legal situation that represents a challenge for everyone. In the end, I didn't handle this situation well and didn't present this program properly. So I wanted to take a minute and apologize for that.”

Lyons and Keys are both charged in connection with an incident last July BWIs Greg Pickel. Lyons is charged with rape, aggravated indecent assault without consent, indecent assault, voluntary deviate sexual intercourse and invasion of privacy. The charges against Keys include rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.

Penn State announced that both players were there.indefinite suspension” on July 31st and they were no longer with the program August 3rd. The university released a statement Tuesday acknowledging the allegations and confirming that none of the players are no longer enrolled.

No questions were asked on the subject Saturday as Franklin left after apologizing. He is expected to face the media again in a few days when Penn State moves in Ohio State Week.
