Sabrina Carpenter's performance stuns the sold-out Superdome crowd. Night 2 of Taylor Swift Era's tour stop in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Taylor Swift's Eras Tour continued its conquest of the Big Easy as its second night drew over 65,000 fans to Caesars Superdome.

Swifties at the Superdome were stunned when fellow pop megastar Sabrina Carpenter made a surprise guest appearance with Swift on stage.

For the occasion, Swift did something she doesn't normally do.

“I think tonight I'm going to do something completely different, which is to sing a song that's not mine, but that of someone I really love,” the singer told her sold-out audience.

Swift began strumming her guitar and singing a few lines to “Espresso,” Carpenter's hit single that dominated the charts this year. Swift rarely performs covers, so fans may have wondered if she had a trick up her sleeve.

In fact, Swift stopped playing the song, called her friend on stage through her cell phone speaker and asked, “Why aren't you here with us right now?”

Not long after, Carpenter took the stage and sang lead, while Swift strummed and sang harmonies in front of the crazed fans who saw two titans of pop music on stage together.

Before leaving, Carpenter performed Swift's “Is it Over Now?” and her other hit single “Please, Please, Please” as a duo.

Swifties from all over the world filled the stadium, dressed in glitter, glitter and outfits that represented their favorite Taylor eras.

Swift took the stage to loud cheers and kept the energy high throughout the night. At Saturday's performance, the Superdome was packed, with fans singing every lyric along with Swift.

She gifted her iconic “22” hat to another lucky fan, a treasured moment she shares at every stop on her tour. The recipient, a young fan in tears, accepted the hat to cheers from the crowd. It is a memory that is sure to last a lifetime.

During her song “22″,” Swift selects one lucky fan to gift the hat to, which she dates and signs with a metal marker. Sometimes the selections are random; in other cases, they are chosen by Swift's team because they went viral, showed off their fan base, or had inspiring stories.

During Friday night's show, the superstar expressed her love for the city during the concert, telling the audience, “We have to finish (the Eras tour) in the funnest cities with the most passionate fans.”

The audience proved her right: They traveled from the Gulf South and beyond, singing along to every lyric, screaming with joy and showcasing their tailored outfits inspired by the different eras of Swift's career.

The local economy is experiencing a boom, hotels in several communities are filled to capacity and restaurants, bars and boutiques are benefiting from the influx of visitors.

Locals were surprised to see how long the lines had become at the French Quarter's iconic Café Du Monde and how large the crowds were in line for goods.

“Taylor Swift is really that girl,” one user wrote on X.

As the sun sets over the Mississippi River on Saturday evening, the Superdome will once again come to life with the sounds of Swift's set list. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Special guest Gracie Abrams takes the stage before Swift shines in her nearly three-hour performance, spanning her entire career from “Fearless” to “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Expect heavy traffic and long lines when Swifties arrive.

Fans should arrive early to enjoy the atmosphere around the Superdome and Champions Square, where merchandise stands and photo ops with a giant friendship bracelet await.

For many, Saturday marks the culmination of months of planning, saving and dreaming about the chance to see Swift live.

From the French Quarter to the Marigny and beyond, the city is painted red (and every other period color) and the energy in New Orleans is palpable.

With one more night gone and two more to go, the Eras Tour is shaping up to be a weekend the city – and the Swifties – won't soon forget.

As Swift herself said, there's no better place to wrap up the US leg of her tour than in a city known for its passion, music and endless love of fun.
