MSNBC host shocked by black, Latino voters supporting Trump's mass deportation policies

MSNBC host Alex Wagner was shocked as Black and Latino voters in Pennsylvania expressed their support for former President Trump and his immigration policies.

Wagner, the host of “Alex Wagner Tonight,” sat down with members of the Black Republican Club of Philadelphia over the weekend and asked various Black and Latino voters why Trump and not Vice President Kamala Harris won their support. While Wagner noted that Black voters in Philadelphia are expected to overwhelmingly support Harris, she questioned how many voters in the county Trump could “select.”

When asked which Trump policies resonated with them, a voter named Dorian Urizar said immigration was the key issue. He also pointed out that he comes from a Guatemalan immigrant family.

“For us, it's just that the new immigrants are more violent, there's more chaos, they do more bad things than anything else, and we've been here longer than them,” he said. “And it's starting to affect us more and more because things are being stolen, they're making us look bad as immigrants, and we've stayed longer than they have, and we're being misrepresented even more because of them.”

HARRIS INCREASES REACH TO BLACK MALE VOTERS AS POLLS HAVE SUGGESTED TRUMP GAINS

Although he was unsure whether he could support mass deportations, he ultimately argued, “But I think it's a good idea for the immigrants coming in, because they're the problem.”

Another voter spoke in favor of mass deportation.

“I largely agree with the idea of mass deportation,” said Pastor Philip Fisher. “We have criminals in this country who are destroying our nation. They come here, get earmarked bills, policies to open businesses, get free housing, get access – easier access than those who immigrate to this country legally to receive welfare benefits.”

“So as taxpayers we have to pay for these people to live a luxurious life and we get nothing. Especially black Americans who have suffered so much in the Democratic system. We get nothing.” “Everything. This is crazy,” he added.

A woman named Sheila Armstrong said: “The part that drives me crazy about immigration is the fact that I feel, and I really feel, that Democrats celebrate people who break the law. Why create the law, create a whole process for immigration so that you can break it?”

HARRIS UNVEILS NEW AGENDA AS SHE COURAGES BLACK MALE VOTERS

Wagner asked the group about Trump's comments about migrants taking “black jobs.”

“Well, first of all, they are,” Armstrong said. “They are illegal immigrants. They are taking away jobs that belong to the citizens of this country. It's simply the fact that Trump is saying it out loud. This is why we stand behind Trump because in the end, this is what we are screaming as a community today.”

In the following segment, Wagner spoke with Pennsylvania Gov. Austin Davis and pressed him on whether Democrats had made a mistake.

“On the one hand, you might think that Harris seems more organized and focused in this fight to divide voters, but Trump's emotional appeal is undeniable,” she said. “And if you heard the tone we played in the last paragraph, I'm wondering if you think that maybe the Democrats miscalculated by relying too heavily on the structure and organization of the Harris campaign, even though Trump has so much emotional weight in his arguments that he is pulling people in, spontaneously.

Davis responded that he believes “quite the opposite” because “I think Democrats recognize that this election is going to be close, which is why Harris is running the largest presidential organization in Pennsylvania during the campaign.”
