Hall of Fame QB calls out Mike McCarthy's play call

Hall of Fame QB calls out Mike McCarthy's play call

The Dallas Cowboys, fresh off a bye week, controlled the game for one half last night. They really had a good run the whole game.

Now, Monday morning, another Pro Football Hall of Famer is taking aim at the way Mike McCarthy runs this offense.

One problem the Dallas Cowboys have had all year is the way the offense operates. It's boring and feels like sandpaper, outside of CeeDee Lamb they don't do anything good and the criticism gets worse every week.

After leading 10-6 at halftime last night, the Cowboys offense had 15 total yards in the third quarter.

The 49ers came out of the locker room and simply dominated the Cowboys, scoring 21 unanswered points, and once again the Cowboys waited until it was too late to attempt a comeback.

Although they had a chance to take the lead, Mike McCarthy's offense again managed to gain 0 yards on the final drive.

Kurt Warner

Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner took to Twitter this morning to remind us all of something we already knew was a problem.

Mike McCarthy has the worst offense in football. He said, “Man, that Cowboys video is a tough one again… game design, details/execution (not sure what it is), Dak not playing well, etc… it would be so frustrating to see that as an O.” see.” !!!”

See the tweet below.

However, he is right. The game design, the details, the execution are so bad. I can't tell you how many times last night I saw Dak Prescott throw a pass to a spot on the field where TWO guys were standing. It looked like they had no idea what was going on.

How can this continue to happen?

First it was Troy Aikman calling the Cowboys' wide receivers lazy and not running good routes, then last week Jerry Jones, the owner and GM, called out Mike McCarthy, now Warner.

Something has to give, right?

The Cowboys returned from their bye and didn't look much better for most of the game than they did in the 47-9 home loss to Detroit two weeks ago.

Prescott threw two interceptions for the third straight game – the first Cowboys quarterback to do so in 32 years – and struggled to generate consistent offense until the fourth quarter.

Kurt is right when he says Dak isn't playing well, but look at what this attack does. Nobody can get open, they can't run the ball, it's so bad!

It starts to unravel

This team is starting to break away from everything. The defense can't stop a cold, the offense has about four good drives a game, and after last night, Trevon Diggs, a leader on this team, couldn't contain himself.

Mike Leslie tweeted during the game asking what Diggs was doing about his lack of effort on a play, and Diggs wasted no time finding it on Twitter and saying something while still in uniform.

“That's what you got from it?” Diggs said. “What did you take away from this whole piece? You don't know anything about football. You can't do nothing I do. You can't go out there and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy. Stop making an effort on me, dog.”

“I’m just asking the question, Trevon,” Leslie said. “I mean, I’m glad you’re answering the question.”

Check out the tweet below.

The moral of the story is that so much has never happened on a team since Dak took over.

They're broken, they can't fix it, and others like Kurt Warner see it the same way we fans do. When does Jerry have enough?

It sucks watching this every week, it's not even fun anymore.
